Buying locally in Hawaii
From dKosopedia
Cheaper is not always better. Supporting local businesses keep local people, local business and the local economy local. Buying locally fashioned items and locally grown produce instead of buying cheaper items that are flown in or shipped into Hawaii have the benefit of decreasing dependency on foreign oil. Buying locally also supports local entrepreneurial talent and culture, keeping them here in Hawaii or from fading away into the past.
