Evan Dobelle

Evan Dobelle, on July 1, 2001, became the 12th president of the University of Hawai'i. He was fired "for cause" by the University of Hawai'i Board of Regents on June 15, 2004. Through mediation, the termination was rescinded and Dobelle was allowed to resign on August 14, 2004. The "for cause" was never explained by the Board of Regents.
