Malia Zimmerman

Malia Zimmerman was fired from Pacific Business News for unspecified reasons and then went on to found the Hawaii Reporter, an online conservative newspaper. Zimmerman is the president, editor, director as well as co-founder of the on-line journal, Hawaii Reporter. She is also a co-founder of Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, a conservative Hawaii thinktank.

In Peter Roff's U.P.I. news report entitled "Analysis: Aloha Democrats." In that article she is reported as asserting that Hawaii's traditionally Democratic Japanese-Americans are leaning toward the Republicans because of the "War on Terror" and that Hawaii's traditionally Democratic Filipino-Americans are leaning toward the Republicans because as Roman Catholics they respond to Republican appeals on social issues. Zimmerman was/is purportedly the girlfriend of Senator Sam Slom (R-HI), and was involved heavily in Governor Linda Lingle's election campaign. She was also involved heavily with the Evergreen Freedom Foundation's Voter Integrity Project.
