Pete McCloskey is a former Republican Congressman from California who tried to defeat Republican incumbent Richard Pombo in the primary, see California U.S. House election, 2006. He is opposed to the Iraq War, and endorsed the Democratic candidate in the 11th district House race, Jerry McNerney (who won).
