Blog is short for web log - originally just a way to exchange interesting links. A blog is now an online diary or journal led by one or a few editors, often with the ability for readers to add comments. It is the simplest way to create an RSS feed, next to just running a wiki feed.

A wiki page in blog form has most of the capabilities of blogs, and quite a few more. Some commentators think blogs, like gopher or usenet, are trasitional to the true web2.
