Ed Towns

Ed Towns is a Democratic representative from the 10th district of New York. He was first elected to Congress in 1982.

Towns graduated from North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, N.C. in 1956; and from Adelphi University, Garden City, N.Y. in 1973. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He has been a teacher at Fordham University in New York. Towns was deputy president of the Borough of Brooklyn from 1976-1982.

Towns is an ordained Baptist minister. He and his wife Gwendolyn have two children and five grandchildren. He is the father of Darryl Towns.
