Georgetown University

Georgetown University is the oldest and most prestigious institution of higher education in the nation's capital. Founded in 1789 by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), it is a comprehensive and elite university with nationally-ranked programs in many areas. Its law school, interestingly enough located on Capitol Hill rather than in Georgetown proper, is ranked 14th in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
