Hipolito Miralda

Carlos Hipólito Miralda Roca was a 72 year old Guatemalan deputy assassinated using firearms, together with his 41 year old assistant, Jesús Eduardo Moreno Álvarez, in the driveway of his home in Santa Rosa outside Guatemala City on March 28, 2004. The legislator was a member of the la Unidad Nacional de la Esperanza, translated as the "National Union for Hope" and known by the acronym "UNE."
