Framing Rounds Involving Iraq War

Please list any rounds here. If you are the coordinator of the round, copy the round template from the Templates section, below, to this section and replace sections with braces to indicate the target close date and other information about the round. Add a reference to the diary establishing the round where indicated.

I would like to encourage "framers " to  : 1)create an "Opportunity Cost" portion of the framing of the Iraq War. and to put it out on a wik for the brilliant and ypung to calculate what could have been done in iraq and eslewhere with the Hundreds of billions being spent. Even a posit a contest to people at Google, MIT , the Long Now and Dropping Knowledge... Comparisons ike those to the beauty of the UAE's parks, museums and other global breathtaking developments might provide a kind of contrast to allow us to see the real cost of war beyond the death, destruction, and environmental degradation for the next 8.5 billion years. The thought could extend to what could have been done even by greedy contractors not bent on human destruction. For future generations maybe the neccessitated greed could be matched to breathtaking design and urban planning or even to real human problems. "Why We Fight" argues war won't end till we see an end to the profits--could the source of the profits be shifted away from materials which from their mining, through their manufacture, to their storage and final deployment leave a trail of death?

This brings me to possible framing topic II. Please address the issue of the nuclear aspect of this war. Leuren Moret's # are usually correct. She recently measured the tonnage of DU deployed in Afganistan and Iraq in terms if Nagasaki bombs. The former was 85,000 , the later I believe in the neighborhood of 245,000. These largely pyroporic particles bind with the desert sand and blow between continents, putting the soft tissu of the globe at risk(women and children, kidneys, brains and lymph systems second. I have very good solid research information which I would be delighted to share. Also see Truthout "multimedia" video clip on Portland State conference on DU, and Kucsinich's website for the strong of emotional consistution on the birth defects. This truth will come out. Please help the truth about the nature of this war and the hidden costs to the soldiers and civilians come to light.

Immense best, tehan carey
