Jim Cooper

Jim Cooper is the Democratic Representative from Tennessee's 5th district in the U.S. House. He was elected to the 5th district in 2002, and reelected in 2004 and 2006. From 1982-1994, Cooper represented Tennessee's 4th district in the House of Representatives.

Cooper has worked as an investment banker, and he founded Brentwood Capital Advisors. Cooper is an attorney (J.D. Degree, Harvard Law School, 1980), and a Rhodes Scholar. He is the son of the late Tennessee Governor Prentice Cooper. He and his wife Martha and their three children live in Green Hills, TN.
