John Sullivan

From dKosopedia

John A. Sullivan is the Republican currently representing Oklahoma's largely Republican First Congressional District (map) in the United States House of Representatives. He was first elected in 2002 in an upset to replace Steve Largent who resigned to run for governor. Incumbent governor Frank Keating's wife, Cathy Keeting, was expected to win the Republican Party primary.

Preposterous

Acording to the biography on his official website Sullivan "has taken the lead to reduce the size of the federal government and control runaway spending." If Sullivan had wanted to cut government spending his first step would have been to leave the Republican Party when it began running up enormouys deficits under Bush the Younger. Using the phrase "taken the lead" doesn't mean accomplishing a thing. It means position-taking on issues.

Anti-Civil Rights Voting Record

Anti-Environmental Voting Record

Sullivan voted against the environment on five recent important legialative roll call votes: Energy (House R.C. 132); Artic Refuge (House R.C. 666); Environmental Funding (House R.C. 88); Coastal Protection (House R.C. 192) and Fuel Efficiency (House R.C. 121).
