Media legislation

Congressman Maurice Hinchey of NY is preparing to reintroduce the Media Ownership Reform Act (MORA). See Daily Kos diary by "Eternal Hope" (January 31, 2007).

Congressman Dennis Kucinich, head of the Domestic Policy panel of the House Government Reform Committee, announced in January 2007 at the Media Reform Conference in Memphis that his committee will take up the Fairness Doctrine and other media issues this session. The Federal Communications Commission will complete its review of FCC media ownership policies this spring.
