Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi

Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi is the Iranian Minister of the Interior. He played a leadership role in the 1988 mass execution of several thousand political prisoners at Tehran’s infamous Evin Prison and as Deputy Intelligence Minister--as the acting Intelligence Minister under Hojjatoleslam Ali Fallahian, Intelligence minister of former Iranian President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani he helped coordinate the assassination of many intellectual and political dissidents.
On October 11, the U.S. Department of State criticised his appointment as the Iranian representative to the Tripartite Commission of Iran, Afghanistan, and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva on October 9-10, 2006, describing him as a "notorious human rights violator."
