Paul Hodes is a Democratic Representative for the Second Congressional District first elected in the November New Hampshire U.S. House election, 2006. He successfully ousted the incumbent Republican Charles Bass, defeating him 53% to 45%.

Background
An attorney with Shaheen & Gordon who worked as an Assistant Attorney General and Special Prosecutor for New Hampshire, Hodes ran against Bass in 2004 and lost after receiving only 38% of the vote.
Hodes graduated from Dartmouth College (A.B., cum laude) in 1972, and Boston College Law School (J.D., cum laude) in 1978. Outside of politics, Paul and his wife Peggo are talented musicians, and they have two grown children.
