West Bank

An area controlled by Israel since a 1967 war, which is West of the Jordan River. It is largely inhabited by Palestinians, but Jews from Israel have erected Settlements in the West Bank which have rendered partition of Israel between Israelis and Palestinians politically difficult for Israel to say the least. The situation is further complicated by the construction of a high partition wall which effectively annexes more land for Israel.
