Tim Walberg

Tim Walberg is the Republican U.S. Representative for Michigan's 7th District.

Walberg is a socially conservative Michigan Republican. He was a member of the State House from 1983 to 1999, and he worked as a pastor and division manager for the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. In 2004, he ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for the 7th District seat in Congress. In 2006, he defeated the moderate incumbent Representative, Joe Schwarz in the GOP primary, then went on to win the general election, see Michigan U.S. House election, 2006. Walberg had financial support from the Club for Growth.

In 2008 he lost to Mark Schauer, and won the district again in the huge Republican success of 2010. He is a Tea Party favorite.

He and his wife Sue have three grown children.
