- Once distributed penis-shaped cookies to her male colleagues in the state legislature.
- During her Wyoming legislative career, she took photographed the crotches of her male colleagues and then posted the pictures on a Cheyenne Capitol bulletin board and invited people to guess the owner's identity.
- Claimed to be "stuck in traffic" when she missed a key vote on whether or not to sell Wyoming public lands and historic resources (Martin's Cove) to a church (LDS/Mormons).
- Famously stuck her foot in her mouth on the House floor on April 9, 2003, by implying during a debate on gun legislation that a certain amendment prohibiting gun sales to those under treatment for drug addiction would therefore prohibit sales to African-Americans in general.
