Charlie Crist

Charlie Christ (R) is the Governor of Florida. He was elected governor in 2006, after serving four years as the state's Attorney General.
Crist is an attorney, who earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. He worked as state director for U.S. Senator Connie Mack. In 1992 he was elected to the Florida State Senate, where he served for six years. Then he joined the executive branch when Gov. Jeb Bush appointed him as Deputy Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. In 2000, Charlie won a special election and became Florida's last elected Commissioner of Education.
