Chris John

Chris John represents Louisiana's 7th Congressional District in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the Democratic Party and a leader of the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of 38 conservative and moderate Democrats in the House.

He was elected to the Louisiana State Legislature in 1987 and served for eight years. He began his congressional term in January 1997.

Chris John is currently a candidate for the Senate seat thrown open by the retirement of John Breaux (D-LA).
