Grant Activity
In 2002, a grant of $5,000[1] from the John M. Olin Foundation funded the following activities at CUNY:
- Support for a Center for Humanities conference on Sidney Hook
(Note of interest: Proposed panelists Irving Kristol, Gertrude Himmelfarb and Hilton Kramer boycotted the event rather than appear with scheduled panelist Cornell West. Panelist John Patrick Diggins at first threatened to boycott and to try to convince the John M. Olin Foundation to withdraw its support for the conference, but ultimately relented and did appear on the panel.[2])
