Dave Patlak is a Democratic veteran from Florida. He ran for Congress in the 18th District, but lost to the incumbent, see Florida U.S. House election, 2006.

Dave is a career Coast Guard officer, who has been the District Commander of the American Legion, and he has also been an active volunteer with the United Way and Best Buddies. Dave and his wife Maryanne have two children, five grandchildren and mentored a high-school student from Little Haiti.
