David Hicks
From dKosopedia
David Hicks is an Australian citizen who was captured by U.S. forces in Afghanistan in 2001. He was held without charge in Guantanamo for years, and he has claimed that he was tortured while in custody. Hicks case became a political issue in Australia, so he was allowed to plead guilty and then shipped to Australia to serve out the rest of his sentence. There is speculation that he was the subject of a special deal between the U.S. Government and Australian Prime Minister John Howard.
