David Souter

Biography

U.S. Supreme Court justice. Filled the seat of William J. Brennan. Sworn in October 9, 1990 by President George H. W. Bush. One of the 4-justice liberal bloc with John Paul Stevens, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and Stephen Breyer. At age 64, also one of the youngest justices.

Was assaulted while jogging in May 2004, provoking a number of conspiracy theories.
