The primary things sysops can do...
- Protect pages. Locking down a page that's the target of a pissing match, or edit war, or the target of someone with a grudge, is sometimes the only way to maintain cool heads or prevent vandalism.
- Delete pages. Some pages just don't need to be there.
- Ban users.
- Grant sysop priv to others. I'd rather you not do this without consulting wit me first, though.
