I. F. Stone
From dKosopedia
Independent journalist and political gadfly of the 1940s, 50s, 60s, and 70s, best known as the author and publisher of I. F. Stone's Weekly, a provocative newsletter that regularly exposed corruption, deception, and anti-democratic actions by government officials, often uncovering stories neglected by the mainstream media of the day.
Late in life, Stone devoted himself to the study of classical Greek language and culture and authored a best-selling book entitled The Trial of Socrates, examining the story of the famous philosopher in the context of human rights and the ongoing struggle for democracy.
