Independence Party

From dKosopedia

The Independence Party is name used by several former state party chapters of the Reform Party. They are currently independent of each other.

The Independence Party is the name of parties in Minnesota, Florida, Michigan, and New York.

In Minnesota, the Independence Party is the former wing of the Reform Party that was centered around Jesse Ventura. It is the most active and electorally successful of the state parties using that name.

In New York, the state Independence Party pre-dates the foundation of the Reform Party and was founded by frequent candidate for governor Thomas Golisano, later affiliated with the national Reform Party, but has since become an independent state party again.
