James A. Baker (government attorney)

James A. Baker is an attorney who joined the United States Department of Justice during the Clinton administration. In 1996 he joined the DoJ's Office of Intelligence Policy and Review, and in January of 2002 he became the head of that office and Counsel for Intelligence Policy.

Mr. Baker is the Justice Department's point man in implementing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 and the Patriot Act.

He is not related to James Addison Baker III, the former Secretary of State.
