Biography

Democrat Kathleen Sebelius was elected Governor of Kansas in 2002. She was easily reelected in 2006, see Kansas gubernatorial election, 2006.

Governor Sebelius holds a masters degree in public administration from the University of Kansas. Before becoming governor she served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 1987-1994. From 1994-2002 she served as the Kansas Insurance Commissioner.
