Koran

From dKosopedia

The Koran (Qur'an in Arabic) is the sacred book of Islam. It is the untranslatable, immutable Word of God as revealed to His Prophet Muhammad by the Angel Gabriel. The Koran's revelations, recorded over the life of Muhammad at Mecca and Medina, were collected 20 years after the Prophet's death by the 3rd caliph, and arranged out of chronological order (generally by length, which is roughly reverse-chronological order) in 114 chapters (suras).

Because the Koran is the Word of God it can only be studied in a religiously meaningful way to Muslims in its original Arabic. All other versions are merely interpretations of the original. Therefore, Muslims around the world must learn classical Arabic to fully realize their beliefs.
