A group of workers who join together in common cause. Common causes include: safe workplaces, decent wages, benefits (such as health insurance), reasonable work hours, nondiscrimination in hiring and promotion, the ability to influence improvements in production techniques and efficiency, performance-based executive compensation, training and education (including mentoring), and corporate financial transparency.
