Rep. Lynn Woolsey, born in Seattle, Washington on November 3, 1937, is the Democratic representative serving the 6th Congressional District of California. She was first elected to Congress in 1992.

Woolsey is one of the co-chairs of Congressional Progressive Caucus. The other chair is Barbara Lee.

As a young single, working mother, Woolsey was on welfare for a time to make ends meet. She has four children and five grandchildren.
