Mac Collins
From dKosopedia
Mac Collins (R) represented the 8th Congressional District of Georgia from 1992-2004. He retired after 6 terms to run in the Republican primary for Zell Miller's open Senate seat. Known more for being very socially conservative than anything else, he counted on his strong anti-abortion credentials to get him into the runoff and then into the general election. His campaign floundered and he placed a distant third to Herman Cain and Johnny Isakson.
In 2006, he ran for the re-districted 8th District seat in Congress, but lost to incumbent Jim Marshall (D), see Georgia U.S. House election, 2006.
