Mahmoud Hanatian is the vice president,deputy director of the Atomic Energy Organization. Gholamreza Aghazadeh is the president/director of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organisation.

On September 26, 2006, Hanatian and Sergei Shmatko, president of Russia’s state-run company Atomstroiexport, signed a deal whereby the Russian vendor to supply fuel for the Iranian reactor at Bushehr in March 2007.
