Mike Hatch

Mike Hatch (D) ran for governor of Minnesota, but lost to the incumbent, see Minnesota gubernatorial election, 2006. He is the former Attorney General of Minnesota, and he was first elected to that office in 1998. Before that, he was Minnesota's Commerce Commissioner from 1983-1989, and the State Chair of the DFL Party from 1980-1983.
Born in Duluth, Mike dropped out of college to join the Merchant Marine, then eventually graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1973.
Mike and his wife Patti have been married for 28 years, and have three children.
