From dKosopedia

Noah is a Biblical figure described in the book of Genesis in the Bible between the story of Adam and Eve and the story of the Tower of Babel. The most memorable part of his story involves him creating an large boat called an Ark, at the direction of God upon which he put his family and most of the animals of the world during a worldwide flood that lasted forty days and forty nights killing almost everything else on land.
