Pat Toomey

Patrick Joseph Toomey or Pat Toomey as he is popularly known, is a conservative Republican who represented Pennsylvania's 15th House District from 1999 to 2004. In 2004, Toomey ran unsuccessfully against moderate Arlen Specter for a seat in U.S. Senate.
The Toomey-Spector primary battle in 2004 put national spotlight on internal divisions of the Republican Party.
Since 2004, Toomey has headed the conservative Club for Growth, which had supported him heavily in his Senate race.
Toomey was born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 17, 1961.
