Phil Avillo is a Democrat from Pennsylvania. He was a Marine during the Vietnam war, where he was awarded a Purple Heart, so that makes him one of the Fighting Dems. Phil came from humble beginnings, and the United States Marine Corps put him through college. He is currently a professor of history at York College with a long record of community service.
