Spiro Agnew

From dKosopedia

Spiro Agnew was the racist[1] Vice President of the United States from 1969-1973, when he was forced to resign because of a bribery scandal that occured while he was the Governor of Maryland.

Agnew had a knack for coining phrases. When he was testing an idea's popularity, he asked if it would "play in Peoria". He accused critics of the Vietnam War of being "nattering nabobs of negativism".
