Togo Dennis West, Jr. served as Secretary of Veterans Affairs in the Clinton administration starting in 1998. This contradicts the assertion by Ann Coulter and other wingnuts that, "the most highly placed black in the Clinton administration was his secretary, Betty Currie". West had previously served as Secretary of the Army.
