Tokamak
From dKosopedia
Tokamak is a Russian acronym formed from the words toroidalnaya kamera magnitnaya katushka (in English "toroidal chamber magnetic coil") used to describe a type of reactor. Toroidal? For comparison, a doughnut is a toroidal pastry. With a Tokamak Reactor a toroidal structure is built to generate a toroidal magnetic "bottle" which contains the plasma in which a fusion reaction takes place. The shape of the bottle (and thus the stability of the reaction) can be controlled by manipulating the strength of the magnetic coils.
