Agnosticism

From dKosopedia

Though the term is used today to describe a religious skeptic or agnostic in all but name, there is a long history of religious believers describing themselves as agnostic.

An agnostic isn't sure whether or not God(s) exists. "Strong" agnostics are sure that God is unknowable. "Weak" agnostics simply do not have enough evidence at the present time to tell whether or not some type of God exists. This is similar to weak atheism.

A lack of religious affiliation often is seen as a liability to political candidates, mostly due to how such candidates are treated by the media.

"Political agnostics" are people who ignore politics and current events. They may belong to a political party, but do not consider their party affiliation to be an important part of their identity. They may or may not bother to vote in elections; if they do vote, they feel it will have little effect.

There are many shades of religious agnosticism and atheism.

"My view is that if there is no evidence for it, then forget about it. An agnostic is somebody who doesn't believe in something until there is evidence for it, so I'm agnostic" - Sagan

"The word God is used to cover a wide variety of very different ideas, ranging maybe from the idea of an outsized light-skinned male with a long white beard who sits in a throne in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow, for which there is no evidence, none at all, to the view of Einstein, Spinoza, which is essentially that God is the sum total of the laws of nature. And since there are laws of nature if that's what you mean by God, then of course there's a God."

"An atheist has to know more than I know. An atheist is someone who knows there is no God" from Sagan
