Fun Facts!
- In 1997, Rohrabacher aide Rhonda Carmony was convicted in a scheme to file fraudulent nomination papers for a decoy Democratic spoiler candidate in a key election for the state legislature. This was Carmony's second go-round with election law, having been charged in 1991 with violations in a municipal election. Rhonda is now known as Mrs. Dana Rohrabacher. FEC reports indicated that for her (1996) troubles (as an aide, not as Mrs. Rohrabacher), she received a bonus of over $15,000 in a single week. (Reference: The Hill, 3/20/96.)

- During the early 1970s Dana Rohrabacher was an anarcho-capitalist and associated with the group of Southern California anarchist/sci-fi fans grouped around Samuel Edward Konkin III. He later forsook anarchism for a brief stint in the Libertarian Party and then ran for office twice - and lost - in Republican primaries for Congress funded by libertarian funder Charles Koch. After serving as a speechwriter for Ronald Reagan he ran for Congress again as a Republican and won in 1988, this time with Oliver North helping with the fundraiding.
