Donna Edwards

She co-founded and served as the first executive director of the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Since 2000, Donna has served as the executive director for the Arca Foundation in Washington, D.C. She has gained national prominence as a strategist and creator of innovative efforts to support “living wage” campaigns, ensure the independence of the federal judiciary, end capital punishment, protect Social Security, and support labor and human rights internationally.
She and her husband Derek have one son.
2006
Donna Edwards is a Democratic lawyer from Maryland. She ran for Congress in the 4th District, see Maryland U.S. House election, 2006. Although she lost the primary to Albert Wynn, she got 46% of the vote, and was endorsed by the Washington Post.
2008
Al Wynn lost the primary election in 2008 to Donna, and resigned his position on May 31st. Donna won the special election on June 17th, and will be on the ballot in November, 2008.
