Feminism

From dKosopedia

Feminism is a political philosophy which is opposed to men dominating women. Feminists believe that women should be politically, economically and socially equal to men. The Suffragette Movement in the 19th Century and 20th Century was part of feminism though it was not called feminism yet then. Feminism became important again in the 1960s and 1970s when women felt that simply being able to vote was not enough. British women who were active in Political Parties felt the men just wanted them to make the tea but did not want women to take much part in political discussions or political decision making. The feminist women of the late 20th Century felt they should have more.
