Hand counted paper ballots

From dKosopedia

Many election integrity activists, including those with a computer science background, believe that the ultimate goal is for voting systems to be comprised only of paper ballots, counted in public. It has been argued that even with voter-verified paper ballots, once tabulation occurs electronically, there is no way to verify that the information printed on the ballots matches the information sent to the tabulator.
