James Carville ran Bill Clinton's successful 1992 campaign for President.

He started his career in the seedy swamp-bed of Louisiana politics under the tutelage of Ray Strothers, essentially the founder of modern political consulting.

Since the 1992 Presidential campaign, James Carville has sworn off domestic politicking, instead focusing on overseas political consulting. He occassionally co-hosted CNN's Crossfire representing the left along with Paul Begala.

Carville is the centerpiece of The War Room, a moving political documentary that covered the 1992 presidential campaign.

He is married to Mary Matalin, herself a political operative for the other side of the aisle. As they say, all's fair in love and politics.
