Kampong Cham
From dKosopedia
Kampong Cham is a province in southeast Cambodia along the border with Vietnam. Its capital is Kampong Cham. The province is home to a large concentration of Cham, a Muslim ethnic minority in both Cambodia and Vietnam. The relative absence of Islamic religious schools in Cambodia has meant that many young Cham are journeying to southern Thailand to study there. Southern Thailand is home to most of that country's Muslim minority, and an increasingly bloody Islamist insurgency. The Thai authorities report watching the acitvities of the young Cham Cambodians in Thailand closely to ensure that they do not serve as recuits for the Islamists.
