Comments
- Rep. Jindal won the primary, beating Boasso by 54-18%, so there will not be a runoff.
- Former U.S. Sen. John Breaux (D) declined to run, because it was not clear if he would qualify as a state resident. Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu decided to run for reelection, instead of trying for Governor. State Sen. Walter Boasso changed his registration from Republican to Democrat; claiming that Rep. Jindal was favored by party insiders.
