National Association of Evangelicals
From dKosopedia
The National Association of Evangelicals was founded in 1942, and it is an umbrella group coordinating the efforts of many independent, evangelical churches and demoninations. The NAE was instrumental in translating the New International Version of the Bible.
The NAE has spawned several related organizations, such as the National Religious Broadcasters. Although most of its positions are conservative, in recent years the NAE has embraced efforts to protect the environment, end the modern-day slave trade, and oppose torture.
Its president is Leith Anderson. He replaced the disgraced Ted Haggard.
