Nuclear Power Phase-Out
From dKosopedia
A nuclear power phase-out is the discontinuation of usage of nuclear power for electric energy production through the closing and decommissioning of nuclear power plants. It was introduced in Austria in 1978, Sweden in 1980, Italy in 1987, Belgium in 1999, and Germany in 2000. It has also been discussed in several other European countries. Austria, the Netherlands, and Spain have enacted legislation to preven the construction of new nuclear power electricity generating stations.
